Matthias Legrand

Matt believes his professional career should be an adventure filled with interesting challenges, encounters, and intellectual rewards. In joining Thrive, he may have found the right environment to express his creativity and utilize his diverse professional experience.

Prior to joining Thrive, Matt led a fintech start-up called Scaleity, for which he secured initial funding, helped develop the product, and found initial clients. Before Scaleity, he worked at JLL in transaction management, helping large corporate clients manage their global real estate portfolios.

Previously, he worked at Probitas as a placement agent in their London office. During that time, he was involved in the origination and project management of fundraising mandates on behalf of blue-chip European private equity managers.

Matt began his career as an investment banker, first at Aforge Finance in Paris and later at William Blair in London. He worked on many cross-border deals involving global mid-market businesses. He received a Master’s degree in Financial Engineering from the University of Caen (France) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from the Normandy Business School (France) and the University of South Florida.

Born and raised in Normandy (France), Matt loves family time, board games, all forms of art, seafood, and strong coffee. He has travelled and lived in many places and always has interesting anecdotes to tell (though people who know him well may have heard them a few times).
