Robert Genovese

Rob enjoys working with our clientele across strategies and global markets. He is passionate about connecting with people and exploring unique opportunities across private markets. At Thrive, Rob serves as our U.S. Chief Representative, acting as a key bridge across our markets and geographies, and assisting clients and our team in all facets of their projects and engaging with investing partners around the globe.

Rob has spent nearly twenty years working in venture capital–backed companies and private equity investment firms in both the U.S. and China. He has built an extensive investor network across Asia, MENA, Europe, and North America. Rob began his professional career exploring China, found himself serving as a stand-in for a 2x-NBA MVP shooting tv commercials in China, joined a fintech startup that was acquired, and eventually launched a career in private equity focusing on mid-market buyouts. Since his return to the U.S. in 2019, Rob has worked across venture capital and private equity, and teamed up with longtime friends at Thrive in 2024.

Originally from the Finger Lakes region of New York State, Rob attended Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts and graduated from Hobart and William Smith Colleges with degrees in Economics and International Relations, while competing on both the men's lacrosse and men's basketball teams. He lived in China for nearly ten years and now resides in New York with his family, traveling frequently.

Rob holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses.
